UK entrepreneur Alan Kidd meets PM

Alan Kid outside Number 10Solerox® and ProDecon® founder Alan Kidd was delighted to accept a personal invitation from Prime Minister Gordon Brown to attend a reception for the UK’s top entrepreneurs and business leaders on 22 June 2009.

During the event, Brown pledged his support for the “culture of ideas and innovation.” He added that the countries that will thrive in the future global economy are the ones that “unleash the talents, the creativity and the enterprise of their citizens.”
The Prime Minster continued: “Our aim is to do everything we can to support your ideas and your innovations: to support the enterprise and the entrepreneurial culture that exists in our country. We want to support you in the efforts that you make for a stronger economy.”

Secretary of State for Business Peter Mandelson urged the audience to start their businesses early, so that they are ready for the coming upturn.

Meeting the PMSolerox and ProDecon® both promote novel technologies. For example, Solerox, through Matrix Thermal Systems™, uses its innovative matrix constituent separator (MCS™) to provide safe, low-cost on-site thermal desorption that turns hydrocarbon sludge and contaminated soil in to inert landfill. ProDecon®’s experienced project managers provide refineries with safer, faster turnarounds by offering a fresh approach to pre-maintenance process-unit decontamination.

Kidd said: “The reception was a show of support for entrepreneurs. I am delighted that our work is being recognised and valued by the government. I believe that Solerox and ProDecon® have competitive technologies and services that can add value both now and when the upturn comes.”


Solerox signs MCS™ engineering design and project management agreement

Solerox has appointed Stopford Projects Limited (Stopford) as its sole engineering design and project management partner for all activities related to the MCS system in the territories for which Solerox has the MCS license. Stopford is a multi-disciplinary project management, design and consultancy organisation with research facilities at the prestigious Lancaster Environment Centre.

Stopford offers a broad range of process and project-engineering support across all sectors of the chemical and process industries. It has extensive experience in process, mechanical, piping, electrical, control, instrumentation, civil and structural engineering design, project management, process development and plant improvement work.
